I can't give you a time I woke up Sunday morning like I have been doing in the rest of my blogs. The fact of the matter is that I never went to sleep Saturday night. It wasn't a crazy party night like many UFC often are, but it did it's job and I went straight to the airport at 6am. I got there and check in was horrendous. Every time I fly US Airways it seems to be an issue like that. It's why I don't travel them any more if I can help it; I just happened to have a free flight with them. After sitting around check in for about 45 minutes (US Airways no longer has curbside because they charge you $15 a bag) I finally got my boarding pass and headed to the gate. Thank god that security went easily; I was getting grumpier by the minute! It was a three hour flight to phoenix where I changed planes for an hour flight to Ontario. My car I had left at Skinnie Magazine's offices, so after getting my bags, I grabbed a cab and was there within minutes.

Dan and the rest of his team were scheduled to land in the next two hours after me, but in San Diego instead. I made the hour and 15 minute drive to his house in Temecula, but first went out of my way to grab a strawberry boba (If you don't know, wikipedia bitches!). I knew there was going to be tons of food at the house so I didn't want to eat before I got there.

Dan lives way deep in the wine country of Temecula. It's quite a distance off the freeway to get there, and includes a short drive on a dirt road. When I pulled into the gate, I was shocked to see how many cars were already there. I parked off to the side and grabbed my swimsuit and shorts out and then went inside to find Dan's wife, Alison.

She had a cast on her left arm from falling on Wednesday night. I'm not quite sure how it happened, but she broke it bad enough to need surgery on it. I had known I was going to beat the guys back so I had rushed over to the house to see if she needed any help. I realized at that point that she had more than enough hands in the kitchen, so I ended up on my laptop finishing my Friday blog. It took me about 2 hours with nonstop people asking me, "why are you working?" I knew that I would get too far behind if I didn't.

Dan arrived around 3 and there was a commotion as everyone moved to hug and congratulate him.
